Kateryna Oliinyk is a Partner of Intellectual Property/TMT Practice at Arzinger Law Firm, Patent & Trademark Attorney of Ukraine. She focuses on the Intellectual Property and cover such practices as Advertising, Unfair Competition, Media, E-Commerce, Commercial Contract, Regulatory and Government Affairs, Product Liability, Consumer Protection, as well and other practices providing legal services for national and foreign companies across sectors.

Kateryna is experienced in transactional work involving intellectual property which includes contract construction and contract interpretation. Ms. Oliinyk has been representing the clients’ interests before Ukrainian courts of all instances in civil, commercial and administrative procedures within an extended period of time. She specifically deals with the infringement and cancellation proceedings related to trademarks, inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trade names, copyright. Kateryna effectively implements different alternative dispute resolution procedures in her legal practice as well. Ms. Oliinyk handles a lot of cases involving infringement of intellectual property rights over the Internet, and which specifically touched upon such issues as cybersquatting, copyright and trademark infringement over the Internet, as well as online sales of counterfeited products. Implements different alternative dispute resolution procedures in her practice, as well as standard right protection mechanisms provided under the criminal, administrative and civil laws. More specifically, Ms. Oliinyk has been working with the soft law and right protection mechanisms, data protection issues, issues related to cybersecurity and website blocking, freedom of speech, avoidance of the collateral effects of website blocking for many years. For this purposes Ms. Oliinyk is cooperating with ICANN over a decade, is a member of Intellectual Property Constituency of ICANN and has been selected as the ICANN Fellow twice and once as ICANN Fellowship Coach to learn more about multistakeholder model of Internet governance, the importance of which can hardly be overestimated, specifically after the IANA transition period. Acting as the UDRP & URS panelist for many years, Ms. Oliinyk has been involved in the development of the alternative dispute resolution policies in the ссTLD .UA. Ms. Oliinyk also participated in the development of the local laws implementing notice & takedown procedure in Ukraine. Ms. Oliinyk advises e-commerce businesses for many years and provide legal support in development of the terms of use and IP policies for online platforms.

PUBLIC ACTIVITY: Kateryna was a member of the working group organized by the ccTLD .UA Registry for the development of ADR procedures in the ccTLD .UA. and also is involved in drafting the legislation on E-Commerce and Copyright protection on the Internet. In recent years, she has been working with the IT and telecommunication sector and was involved in the development Internet multistakeholder governance model in the Ukrainian segment of Internet.

Kateryna is an author of several articles for IP protection on the Internet, new generic Top-Level Domain Program etc. and a regular speaker at national and international IT, IP and law seminars and conferences.  Kateryna is UDRP & URS panelist of the National Arbitration Forum (Minneapolis, USA). Kateryna is the UA-DRP panelist of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center (Geneva, Switzerland).   Kateryna was participant of the ICANN58 (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) as the Fellow  (Copenhagen, Denmark); Fellowship for ICANN60 Public Meeting (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates); Coach of the Fellowship Program for ICANN63 (Barcelona, Spain).   Kateryna acted as the legal adviser and facilitator of the process of implementation of .UA Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy and the respective Rules. Back in December 2019 Hostmaster Ltd, the Registry of country code top level domain .UA, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (“WIPO”) entered into the agreement on implementation of the alternative dispute resolution procedure in the cc TLD .UA under UDRP1-like .UA Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.   Kateryna is the lecturer in IP/IT law in academic institution and courses.
